we see you, antonio lewis

I’ve lived in District 12 for years, and like many of you, I’ve been paying attention to how our city is being led. When we elected Antonio Lewis, we expected a councilmember who would stand up for our neighborhoods, fight for safety, and be present when we needed him most. Unfortunately, that’s not what we got.
Instead, Antonio has made headlines for the wrong reasons. He was cited by police for marijuana possession while driving with a suspended registration, a lapse in judgment that raised serious questions about his respect for the law and the office he holds. Later, he clashed publicly with the very police officers who protect our city, undermining trust between leadership and law enforcement. And when the chance came to invest in the Public Safety Training Facility to make sure our officers have the tools and training they need, he voted against it.
But it’s not just the news headlines that trouble me — it’s the day-to-day reality. He’s absent. He doesn’t show up at neighborhood meetings, and when residents call his office, they rarely get a response. Constituents looking for help with city services are left waiting, often never hearing back at all. Ask around District 12, and you’ll hear the same story: people haven’t seen him, haven’t been heard, and don’t feel represented.
Four years of this is enough. We deserve a representative who shows up, who listens, and who takes our safety seriously.
We deserve a councilmember who respects both the law and the people of this district. District 12 deserves better than silence, absenteeism, and headlines that embarrass our community.
It’s time for change. We can’t afford another four years of ineffective leadership. We deserve to be safe, we deserve to be heard, and we deserve a councilmember who will work tirelessly to uplift District 12.
Sincerely,
A Concerned District 12 Resident
